One of our most popular products in recent times has been the bamboo coffee mug. More eco-friendly than plastic with a nice story behind it, you might wonder what’s not to love. The German Federal Institute for Risk Assessment (BfR), however, has released some worrying research that has made us think twice.

With this in mind we have been looking into practical and stylish alternatives that will make the ideal replacement for those bamboo fiber cups:

Option 1. (image above) Enjoy your coffee at work or at home in this borosilicate glass with a silicone lid and sleeve. The cup has a nice grip and a slim shape. A small vent in the lid allows steam to escape to prevent pressure build-up. BPA free. Capacity 360ml.

Borosilicate glass contains boron trioxide which allows for a very low coefficient of thermal expansion. This means it will not crack under extreme temperature changes like regular glass. Its durability has made it the choice for high-end restaurants, laboratories, and wineries.

Option 2 – (Back cups in top image) These Double-walled bamboo and stainless steel cups with AS lid with slide closure.  Make a stylish eco-friendly option for a tea or coffee cup. With a capacity of up to 350 ml. Supplied in a craft box.
